Spinach and Feta Breakfast Strata

A strata is a savory, layered breakfast casserole that’s easy to prepare the night before and bake in the morning. This version is loaded with spinach, feta, and rustic bread, making it a hearty and flavorful choice.

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups cubed rustic bread (stale bread works best)
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

 

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Layer the bread, spinach, feta, and mozzarella in the baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and cheese. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown and set. Let cool slightly before serving.
