This spring, St. George’s historic downtown will again transform into an open-air museum as the Art Around the Corner Foundation (AACF) unveils its much-anticipated 2025 Outdoor Sculpture Gallery. Marking 21 years of bringing exceptional public Art to the city, this year’s installation features 38 new sculptures from acclaimed artists nationwide. From abstract forms to lifelike figures, each piece offers a unique perspective, creating a vibrant tapestry of creativity that’s free and accessible to all.<\/span><\/p>

The community is invited to celebrate this milestone on April 12 during a festive installation event at Historic Town Square from 10 a.m. to noon. Guests can stroll through the blossoming arts district, meet the artists behind the works, and experience the powerful impact of public Art firsthand. The celebration will include live music and light refreshments, making it a perfect morning for families, art enthusiasts, and curious visitors.<\/span><\/p>

“Public art brings vibrancy, inspiration, and a sense of place to our community,” says St. George Mayor Michele Randall. “Art Around the Corner has been a cornerstone of this city for over two decades, and we invite everyone to come out and enjoy this year’s incredible collection.”<\/span><\/p>

Since its founding in 2004, AACF has remained dedicated to enriching the cultural fabric of St. George through its innovative “art on loan” program. This initiative invites national and regional sculptors to display their works in public spaces throughout the city for a year. Many of these installations find permanent homes through purchase or lease, allowing public spaces and private collections to flourish with inspiring works of Art.<\/span><\/p>

“In our 21st year, we remain committed to making fine art accessible to all,” says Heather Atkin, Board Chair of the Art Around the Corner Foundation. A passionate advocate for the arts and active community leader, Atkin also serves on the board for Art Provides and has long supported organizations such as AAUW St. George and Equality Utah.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

Her journey with AACF began as a writer for the SU Independent, where she first covered a story on the foundation and fell in love with its mission. Since then, her dedication to public Art has only deepened, especially after she and her husband made downtown St. George their home. Share these works with family and friends, and take a moment to reflect on the lasting impact of Art in our community.”<\/span><\/p>

All sculptures in the Art Around the Corner Galleries are available for purchase or lease, though they will remain on display until the next gallery installation (typically in March or April). To purchase, contact Art Around the Corner, and a contract will be prepared with the artist. Payments are processed through the Foundation, which retains a 25% commission. The Foundation can also assist with pickup or delivery arrangements. Purchases may qualify for a tax deduction. To lease, contact the Foundation. AACF will coordinate a conversation with the artist to establish a one-year (renewable) lease agreement. Lease fees\u2014agreed upon with the artist\u2014may be applied toward a future purchase. The Foundation retains 25% of the leasing costs and can help coordinate delivery. Lease payments may also be tax deductible.<\/span><\/p>
