Whether you’re just passing through this historical town or you’ve been a resident for years. It might surprise you to know just how pet-friendly Flagstaff is. The first stop when you arrive in Flagstaff should be the Visitor Center. This is an underutilized resource in most towns, and the Flagstaff visitor’s center has an incentive for well-traveled dogs. If you stop by and show proof of accommodation in Flagstaff, you’ll get a special gift for your traveling pup. The Visitor Center is located in the train depot on Route 66, an essential part of Flagstaff’s history and still a popular stop for Amtrak travelers today. That happiness is just waiting for you (the pup’s parents), the fam, and your fluffball. Participating Flagstaff stores, restaurants, and accommodations welcome well-mannered four-legged friends on leashes. So for a top dog, happy, tongue hanging out experience, bring that fur baby and consider the following places for all your paws.

If you’re new in town, stop by the Visitor Center. The Flagstaff visitor’s center even has an incentive for well-traveled dogs. As for locations, the Bowwow boutique is an obvious one, a brand new pet boutique that evolved from a farmer’s market stand. They sell everything from pet costumes to specialty oils. And your four-legged friend will love the all-natural, locally made Doggie Snaps. If you love bookstores, especially those that welcome dogs, you’ll love Bright Side Bookshop. There’s a cozy nook in the front window, complete with a water dish for your thirsty pup and treats behind the counter. The shop has a fun selection of books, gifts, and cards, plus a great lineup of special events, such as eating a locally-owned gem of Flagstaff. Both locations (downtown and east side) have dog-friendly patios. They serve breakfast all day, and the menu is expansive. And located in the clubhouse at the illustrious Continental Golf Club is the Oakmont. There’s a cozy dining room with a fireplace and big-screen TVs, plus a dog-friendly covered patio for warmer nights, with some fantastic food on the menu. And if you’re looking for lodgings, Sonesta Es Suites, Residence Inn, and the Courtyard Marriott are all spectacular locations where you can stay with a pet.
