The Mountain Artists Guild: 77 Years of Creativity and Community

For over 77 years, the Mountain Artists Guild has played a vital role in Prescott’s thriving arts community, serving as a creative home for artists and a cultural destination for residents and visitors alike.

Founded in 1949, this nonprofit organization is dedicated to supporting visual artists while fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts throughout Arizona.

The Mountain Artists Guild truly is all about community connection. Through exhibitions, educational programs, outreach initiatives, and public events, the Mountain Artists Guild creates opportunities for artists to showcase their work while inspiring creativity across generations. Its gallery space regularly features juried exhibitions that highlight both emerging and established talent from the region.

Among all of these guilds’ most cherished traditions are its annual Fine Art and Wine Festivals, including the wonderful Mother’s Day event held at Prescott’s historic Courthouse Plaza since 1953. These festivals unite artists, wineries, musicians, and thousands of attendees for celebrations that have become essential to Prescott’s cultural identity.

The guild’s impact goes beyond exhibitions and festivals. Its programs supporting youth art education and veterans provide meaningful opportunities for creativity, healing, and self-expression within the community.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Stefanie Culver, the Mountain Artists Guild continues to preserve and strengthen the arts in Prescott through passion, collaboration, and community support, aided by a small staff, dedicated volunteers, and an active Board of Directors.
