Her path as a painter took an unexpected turn when she first set out to explore watercolor. After facing a challenge that made watercolor difficult, Dee began searching for other ways to paint and express herself. That search led her to palette-knife painting, and almost immediately, something clicked. What began as a creative detour became a defining part of her work.<\/span><\/p>

Much of Dee\u2019s inspiration comes from the beauty of Colorado and the West. Living in Loveland, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, shifting seasons, and the creative spirit of the Front Range, she finds subjects everywhere. Aspens glowing in autumn.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Mountain views touched by light. Flowers bursting with color. Cardinals, wildlife, and beloved pets whose personalities deserve to be remembered in paint. Family is also central to Dee\u2019s story. As a grandmother of four and great-grandmother of two, she brings a lifetime of love, perspective, and lived experience into her creative practice. Her fianc\u00e9, Gregg Hultquist, has also been a meaningful source of support and encouragement, adding another layer of belief to a journey defined by growth, resilience, and discovery.<\/span><\/p>
